Lil’ Boat lives on the streets, with his devoted caretaker Monica. They rely on each other to get through each day. 💙

Danny, a friend who looks out for both of them, heard about Community Veterinary Outreach and asked for assistance on their behalf. Lil’ Boat had previously suffered from bladder stones and needs regular monitoring to prevent these from recurring.

Our CVO Ottawa medical team now provides care for Lil’ Boat at our regularly scheduled wellness clinics, and also stays in close contact between clinics, carrying out diagnostic testing and providing prescription diets to prevent the formation of bladder stones (thanks Royal Canin Canada!).

Dr. Tracey Young, an outstanding, longtime volunteer with CVO, has developed a trusting relationship with Monica and is always willing to meet with her, ensuring that both she and Lil’ Boat receive any help they need.

Monica’s well-being is closely connected with Lil’ Boat’s well-being and thanks to your financial support, we are able to work on keeping this important relationship intact. As Danny said in a recent text...

“If you save Lil’ Boat, you save Monica”.

As an added bonus, Danny has now become a dedicated supporter of CVO! With a documentary honouring his famous cat, Coal, the last surviving cat from the famous Parliament hill cat colony, including an ask for donations for CVO!
