Magi, Ivan, Piglet, CiCi, & Morrison
In 2024, CVO York had the privilege of supporting Magi, Ivan, Piglet, CiCi, and Morrison. At our most recent events, we vaccinated all three cats, treated them for fleas. Ivan, the dog, was vaccinated and neutered! All pets were set up with food for the upcoming months, donated by Royal Canin Canada. Read their story and the impact Community Veterinary Outreach has had on Magi and her pets directly from her:
“My name is Magi. I became homeless last year. Homeless with a dog and 3 cats. Do you know how hard it is to be without a home with pets? Friends and people were telling me you're going to have to rehome them because nowhere, no shelter will take you and the animals. Under NO circumstance was I going to let that happen. My pets are my family, they are my medication for my depression. At that time, I ended up living in a tent because I was refusing to give up my pets, my family. Then an angel, named Dr. Angela, came to our rescue. This wonderful human being and Community Veterinary Outreach of York Region said that she would, they would, temporarily house my 3 cats and my dog so that I could go live safely in a shelter and to look for new accommodations. I have no idea how I could ever thank them for keeping my family together and for taking care of them under this difficult situation. This organization is a necessity for people like me who become homeless under no fault of their own and being able to keep their pets safe. I am ever so grateful I have no words and I keep thanking the stars above for Dr. Angela and their amazing volunteers for taking care of them.
Thank you from Magi, Ivan, Piglet, CiCi, and Morrison. “
