Umberto & Diamond

“She picked me.” Umberto and his late wife found Diamond at a local animal shelter. He shared with us that his wife “didn’t need diamonds, this one [their dog] became her Diamond”, and that was how she got her name. After his wife passed, Diamond was the one to get him through that impossible time. When he couldn’t sleep or cope with her loss, Diamond made sure he got fresh air. They took care of each other. Not long after, Umberto was injured at work and unable to continue to pay veterinary bills to care for Diamond. Thanks to their resilience, with a little help from CVO Toronto, Diamond and Umberto are able to stay together. This is what we do: keep pets with their families.
